You have chosen to make an anonymous disclosure of a personal experience or share details anonymously on behalf of someone else. What happens next:
You have chosen to share or disclose an incident or concern to the University of Lancashire anonymously. We take all form submissions seriously, but if you choose not to provide your name or contact details, this may constrain the university's ability to take any action under its procedures and we will not be able to contact you to offer advice/support or provide a progress update.
An Anonymous Report and Support submission will not formally begin a complaints process. Further information about the Complaints and Code of Conduct policies and procedures can be found on the Student policies and regulations page of our website
If you would prefer, you can make a submission that includes your personal details which will enable the Student Wellbeing team ,or People team for University staff members, to discuss with you the support and potential resolutions available. You do not have to include the details of the person you wish to disclosure or share information about and can decide to seek support without taking it forward to a formal report.
Placement concern:
If you are a student on placement or a placement provider, please complete the Disclose/Share with contact details page. If you do not feel you are able to share a submission with contact details, the principles of anon reporting detailed on the page may apply. Further reading about how to share information is located on the Reporting Placement Concerns page.
What happens when I make an Anonymous report submission?
In most circumstances, the University cannot take action against individuals on the basis of an anonymous submission. If you want the university to take follow-up action regarding the incident or concern detailed, you should submit a form that includes your personal details, or make a formal complaint.
However, if any information in your submission makes it possible for the University to identify other people, the University may, in exceptional circumstances, be required to act on that information – for example if your submission relates to an ongoing issue that the University is aware of, or highlights a safeguarding concern. This may result in the University sharing the details of the form submission with these individuals. In these exceptional circumstances, we cannot guarantee the other person will not know that you shared these details.
Choosing to submit an anonymous form means we might not be able to help you directly but can help others. The information you give us today will help us to provide better support to others and inform prevention work across the University.
What about my data?
You can use this form to make an anonymous submission if you choose to do so. If you do include personal data in your report, we may use this in ways detailed in our Student Privacy Notice (or, if you are not a student, on the Data Protection pages of our website). We will not take steps to identify you from your form submission unless we have good reason to do so, such as if we suspect you are abusing the reporting procedure.
